Where Isaias is now

Questions about tracking a hurricane

Is the Ora Weather hurricane tracker free?
Yes. The free version of Ora Weather shows a storm’s current position, a landfall estimate with the time and the distance from your location, and severe weather alerts. OraPlus adds the full forecast path and hurricane alerts, and you can try OraPlus free for 3 days.
Does Ora Weather issue hurricane warnings?
No. Hurricane watches and warnings are issued by the National Hurricane Center and local National Weather Service offices. Ora Weather relays them under their official names and tells you what is happening, what to do and when it ends.
What is the difference between a tropical storm and a hurricane?
Wind speed. The National Hurricane Center classes a tropical cyclone as a tropical storm when its maximum sustained winds are 39 to 73 mph (63 to 118 km/h), and as a hurricane from 74 mph (119 km/h).
Does the forecast path show how big the storm is?
No. A forecast track and the NHC cone around it show where the centre of the storm is likely to go. Wind, rain and storm surge can reach well beyond it.
